 The Houston Council of the Blind was organized January 27, 1978 in Houston Tx. There were 18 members who were very involved in the growth of the organization. The organization was chartered by the State of Texas on June 2, 1978 as a non-profit corporation. The first officers were:

American Council of the Blind 2012 Conference/Convention Galt House Hotel Louisville, Ky Fridy July 6 - Saturday July 14, 2012 Room Rates: $85 for a standard room in the west tower and $105 for a one bedroom suite in the east tower.
